Vienna & Austria Wall Art: Prints from the Prater to the Konzerthaus
Share
Vienna photographs unusually well for a city that isn't trying to. It's a city built on symmetry and scale — wide boulevards, domed halls, a fairground that's been there since 1897 — and none of it needs a filter to look considered. This is a short guide to our Vienna & Austria collection, and where each photograph was taken.
The Konzerthaus
Vienna's concert house isn't the most photographed building in the city — the State Opera and Schönbrunn get that attention — but its facade has a quieter, more architectural grandeur that suits a print better than a postcard. It's the kind of building that rewards a second look, which is the whole idea behind this shop.
The State Hall, Austrian National Library
If you've never been inside the State Hall, it's worth the detour: two floors of frescoed ceiling, dark wood shelving and marble statuary, built for the Habsburgs and still functioning as a library. It photographs like a cathedral because it was more or less designed as one, for books.
The Prater and the Schweizerhaus
The Prater is Vienna's public park and permanent funfair, and the ferris wheel at its centre has been turning since before the First World War. Nearby, the Schweizerhaus is a beer garden that's been serving the same stemmed pork knuckle since 1920. Together they're a different Vienna to the palaces — louder, more local, and just as worth photographing.
How to hang them
The Vienna prints work well as a gallery wall set of three — Library, Concert House and the Prater ride together read as one trip rather than three unrelated photographs — or as a pair if you want a smaller footprint. Either way the buy-multiple discount applies automatically at checkout.
Every print is my own photograph, made to order on canvas, as a framed print, a hanging poster or a rolled matte poster, with free UK delivery. See the full Vienna & Austria collection, or browse all European city prints.
