Rome in Print: Photography Wall Art from the Eternal City

Rome rewards a camera that looks up and a camera that looks at texture. Our Rome and Italy prints do both — the grand set pieces and the worn stone underneath them. Here's the range and how to place it.

The set pieces

The Colosseum is the one everyone knows, and it earns a wall on its own — go large, on canvas or framed. St Peter's in the Vatican and Vatican Steps cover the other must-see, while Castel Sant'Angelo is the fortress seen straight down the bridge.

Bernini's colonnade, three ways

The sweep of columns around St Peter's Square is one of the great pieces of architecture to photograph. St Peter's Colonnade and The Colonnade Sweep take it from different angles — both work as a pair, and both suit a hallway where the receding lines pull you down the space.

Statues and detail

For close work: Basilica Statue is an apostle on the roofline of St Peter's, Centre Statuette is a classical sculpture in detail, and the angels of Ponte Sant'Angelo line the bridge over the Tiber. These are the prints for a study or a reading room — quieter, more contemplative than the big monuments.

Ancient stone

Roman Bath, Rome Original Fortress and Rome's Oldest Building are all about texture — two thousand years of weather on the same walls. They sit well in warm-toned rooms and pair naturally with the statue prints. Sepia Castel takes the idea further with a warm monochrome treatment, and The Vatican Opel is a vintage car parked against all that history — the one with a bit of humour in it.

Placing Rome prints

  • Living room: one large monument print — the Colosseum or St Peter's — on canvas or framed.
  • Hallway or stairs: the colonnade prints, or a run of three statue details in matching frames.
  • Study or office: the ancient-stone textures and the statues — muted, detailed, easy to work alongside.
  • Warm rooms: Rome's stone is naturally warm-toned, so it flatters ochre, terracotta and wood far more than a cool grey scheme.

Every print is 40×60 cm, made to order in a UK production partner, with free UK delivery. Not sure which format? See our canvas vs framed vs poster guide. Or browse the full collection →
